I have Ehlers-Danlos; I don't take high-level painkillers (can't afford much of anything beyond some NSAIDs and my anti-depressants, plus mine isn't as bad as my mother's) and instead take a regular dose of naproxen, which sounds wimpy but will help build up an anti-inflammatory blood level.
