Anyone else ever had an endoscopy without any anaesthetic?

It is absolutely horrific. It hurts like hell & feels like choking to death but you can’t even gag… for at least 15 minutes.

It’s right up there in the 10 worst experiences in my life.

I decided to treat myself to some homemade French toast this morning. I even brought a chair into the kitchen so I wouldn’t be standing all the time. Cue mom entering the kitchen, telling me to move my chair, telling me to move my chair AGAIN, and then putting the chair back at the table when I’m not looking. This despite me having told her several times over the past few days that my hypermobility pain has been getting worse. Bye bye, spoons.

The toast was delicious, but I won’t be trying that again for a while.

Legit, got this yesterday after taking morphene for chronic (unidentified) pain, for the first time.

Right, because I conciously chose to continue being in pain. I think her point was “you’re so bent on the fact that nothing works that nothing will work”.

I don’t think it works that way. As a nurse you should know better.

My various chronic disorders often lead to me feeling cold, even in +100 degree weather, while I also get anxious if my clothes are too irritating, even if they’re really not all that seamed or whatever. Leads to rough nights for sure.

I’m 20 with a cane. She’s 90 with a walker. This seems backwards.

I’m sorry if this has been done before, but this happens every time, and it never fails to crack me up.

long story short, i’ve been doing serious research trying to pin down all of my symptoms for the last seven or so months.  got an appointment with a rheumatologist specifically so i could get a proper diagnosis—and whaddya know, i was right.  it’s fibro.  pain meds and attempting exercise it is, then.

too bad i’m only on my parents’ insurance until i turn 26 in november and then i’m screwed for appointments and pain meds (not to mention my depression meds) until i can afford insurance on my own. :|
