I have endometriosis and depression. I have very little energy and recently I’ve even had trouble standing for long periods of time without either being in pain or feeling too exhausted to stay on my feet, but I’m not sure if it’s related to my illnesses or just that I’m out of shape. (I’m also not sure if my lack of desire to exercise is related to my illnesses or my laziness).

My friend likes to tease me about how I’m always so tired. So when she caught the flu and complained about what sounded like exactly the level of fatigue I always feel, I couldn’t really bring myself to feel bad for her on that front.

My various chronic disorders often lead to me feeling cold, even in +100 degree weather, while I also get anxious if my clothes are too irritating, even if they’re really not all that seamed or whatever. Leads to rough nights for sure.

long story short, i’ve been doing serious research trying to pin down all of my symptoms for the last seven or so months.  got an appointment with a rheumatologist specifically so i could get a proper diagnosis—and whaddya know, i was right.  it’s fibro.  pain meds and attempting exercise it is, then.
too bad i’m only on my parents’ insurance until i turn 26 in november and then i’m screwed for appointments and pain meds (not to mention my depression meds) until i can afford insurance on my own. :|

In response to this very relevant chronic illness cat. Doing better recently, but I still have to watch myself carefully for high-seeking and crashes.

My dad has a list as long as the house of hereditary diseases from his father’s side. I’m the only one to inherit said diseases including mental illnesses, asthma, insomnia, chronic pain and too many more. Needless to say, I’m awaiting symptoms.

Oddly enough, it’s only doctors who seem to believe the myth that anxiety+depression always go hand in hand. “So, how is your anxiety?” I don’t have anxiety. “Okay, this new medication will help with your anxiety.” …but I don’t have anxiety. “Wow, your test scores show you’re surprisingly low on anxiety!” YOU DON’T SAY?!
