Thanks for the advice, but I’M IN TOO MUCH PAIN TO MOVE.

I’m 20 with a cane. She’s 90 with a walker. This seems backwards.

I’m sorry if this has been done before, but this happens every time, and it never fails to crack me up.

Seriously I am so sick of docs not listening to me/taking me seriously. I have lived with this (and all my other illnesses/disabilities) my ENTIRE LIFE. I have not been adequately medicated for my insomnia for months now and I am seriously on the verge of a mental breakdown. If I didn’t have class tomorrow morning I would be in the ER right now. That’s the plan for tomorrow night if this continues. I just can’t deal anymore.

long story short, i’ve been doing serious research trying to pin down all of my symptoms for the last seven or so months.  got an appointment with a rheumatologist specifically so i could get a proper diagnosis—and whaddya know, i was right.  it’s fibro.  pain meds and attempting exercise it is, then.

too bad i’m only on my parents’ insurance until i turn 26 in november and then i’m screwed for appointments and pain meds (not to mention my depression meds) until i can afford insurance on my own. :|

My allergist said this to me at my last appointment, despite the fact I’m not diagnosed with one and I’d just seen a rheum who had supposedly ruled it out. It was news to me. Now I’m being referred to an immunologist.

I’ve always had problems with my estrogen levels, and it seems like they’re back.

My fibro pain makes me tense up constantly, which makes my muscles and joints hurt more, which makes me more tense. Lather, rinse, repeat. I consciously relax when I notice, but somehow I always wind up tense again.

I have had this doctor for several years and she has this tendency to get hung up on my dizziness, even though I barely ever get that anymore and when I do it’s just ‘cause I haven’t been drinking enough that day. Meanwhile I’ve had chronic fatigue that’s gotten to the point where I can barely feed myself and my cat and her only suggestion for that is to up my dosage of drowsiness-inducing medication.

I found a medicine for my JRA that finally works with minimum side effects. Sure, it hurts to take and I need to give myself a needle every day now, but better than being a steroid-fueled rage-a-holic. However, my insurance company decides it would be a GRAND idea to tell me I should stop taking it. Me and my mother keep having to fight for me to be able to get it, since this happens at least bi-monthly.

Oh, did I mention this has been going on for 3 years now?
